December is Biography Month: House of Abraham: Lincoln and the Todds, a Family Divided by War by Stephen Berry (and recommended by a book club member)
January is Contemporary Fiction Month: Coal Black Horse by Robert Olmstead which will also serve as a companion piece to House of Abraham since Olmstead’s novel is set during the Civil War.
February is Black History Month: The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears by Ethiopian born writer Dinaw Mengestu.
March is Contemporary Fiction Month: Away by Amy Bloom which will pair with The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears as a story about the immigrant experience.
April is Science Month: Longitude by Dava Sobel.
